As a Canteen Assistant, you’re more than just a friendly face behind the counter. You’re a key part of creating a welcoming and inclusive canteen for our team. By preparing and serving fresh, tasty meals and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen and canteen environment, you help keep our workforce happy, healthy, and ready to perform at their best.

What you'll be doing

• Safety Champion: Following all relevant food safety and health & safety procedures

• Fuelling our Factory: Preparing and serving high quality, healthy, nutritious food to staff

• Keeping a tidy Canteen: Ensuring all kitchen and canteen spaces are thoroughly cleaned, after each meal and shift, and washing up, maintaining high cleanliness and hygiene standards

• Customer Service with a smile: You are the face of our canteen. Consistently providing friendly service, helping create a positive, inclusive dining experience for all employees and visitors

• Washing up and cleaning kitchen and dining areas

• Kitchen Stock Management: Simple processes make life easier. You ensure relevant kitchen and canteen areas remain well stocked throughout service. You effectively rotate stock, minimising waste and ensure items are stored in appropriate conditions, maximising their usable lifespan

It's important to be aware that both part and full time roles include weekend working.

What you'll bring

• A love of food coupled with a positive, can-do attitude

• Working knowledge of hygiene and food safety standards

• Experience of meal prep in a busy kitchen environment

• Ability to work well as part of a team but shows initiative when needed

• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

• Good communication skills and a genuine enjoyment of working with people
