Production Operative
Job Description
The post will be based at Heck Q, Bedale. This is an exciting opportunity to join a very busy food preparation crew at a thriving food manufacturing factory.
THE WORK
As a food processing worker, you would usually work on a fast-moving production line, which has food passing along on conveyor belts, through different stages such as mixing etc.
Your duties include:
- in a busy and clean working environment
- checking and controlling the machinery that processes the food
- keeping the workplace clean and tidy and fulfil the housekeeping and hygiene after the daily production
- when problem or incident occur with the production process, you shall stop the machine and report to your supervisor immediately
- overall protective clothes, boots and all PPE will be provided for this site
- be available to work from Monday to Friday then possibly Saturday due to working timetable
- lunch is supplied in our canteen everyday, we have a team that work hard to provide delicious hot meals to our staff everyday.
- working hours vary due to the production target, generally starts from 8.00 and finished when the job is done (due to the production target for the day), with a 60-minute lunch break (11.30am to 12:30pm) with your team members.
- previous experience in a production environment is desirable but we will also consider applicants from other walks of life who can demonstrate they have the capability to work in this type of role.
WORKING HOURS
Your job would mainly take place on the production line of the factory.
You will work to high standards of hygiene and you will wear clean protective clothing, boots, hairnet and beard mask.
INCOME
Hourly rate will start from £11.52, With experience and great performance, this can rise consistently as team leaders and supervisors along your career pathway.
QUALIFICATIONS
You don’t need any particular qualifications to start as a production line worker.
SKILLS AND QUALITIES
To be a production line worker you should have:
- the ability to follow instructions and procedures
- a good understanding of health and safety and basic hygiene rules
- report to the factory supervisor or quality controller if you spot any issues
- the ability to maintain concentration for repetitive tasks
- accuracy and attention to detail
- good team working skills and the ability to work individually
- a willingness to work flexibly due to the timetable
- Ability to speak and understand English – desirable but not essential
